Solar Home System
What is a Solar home?
A solar house refers to a solar roof. PV system or ground? A PV system is installed in the house, so that the daily electricity used by the family is generated from solar energy. Solar home systems can be divided into on-grid solar systems, off-grid solar systems and hybrid solar systems.
On Grid Solar System
On-grid solar systems are currently the most common solar home systems. After installing the PV panel, the system is connected to the grid. Installing an on-grid solar system means that when night falls or when it rains, the solar panels cannot generate electricity, and the house can get power from the grid.
When there is excess production in the daily solar energy production, the electricity will be transferred to the grid. According to NEM, your utility company will pay you for this.
Hybrid solar system
A hybrid solar system adds an "energy storage" function to an on-grid solar system, and stores excess electricity in a battery. When the solar panels are in a state where they cannot produce electricity, the house draws power from the battery. Basically there is no power outage in the house after installing hybrid solar system. Even if the grid stops supplying power, the home battery will provide power.
Off grid solar system
An off-grid solar system is when a home relies entirely on solar energy to generate electricity. This is not common, as it requires a large scale. PV systems to meet daily household electricity demand.
Off-grid solar systems are more likely to be used in small mobile buildings such as boats and RVs.
Why Solar Homes?
Natural gas is an important source of electricity. Due to the recent international situation, Russia's external natural gas supply has decreased, resulting in a significant increase in natural gas prices in some countries.
National Grid has announced that electricity prices will rise by 60% in the next six months from November 2022, with France's largest power producer saying it will increase electricity prices by 8.6% in the fourth quarter.
Reduced cost of solar energy
With the rapid development of PV industry, the manufacturing cost of solar energy systems has been controlled and reduced. According to an IRENA report, global solar... PV electricity production has declined by 82 percent over the past ten years.
The main reasons are technological innovation and the integrity of upstream and downstream supply chains
